I have always enjoyed working on large-scale still lifes taken from ordinary life and circumstances. The material things that daily surround me are reminders of the beauty that can be found in the simplest of objects. Also, they are a reminder of the passage of time and the persistence of memory that we all find in our own objects of sentiment. In addition, I also like to experiment with pattern and scale in my works and sometimes combine landscape with still life. I enjoy working on a larger scale than is normally associated with watercolor as I find it an additional challenge in itself and I think it brings a dramatic effect to the work.
